We last posted on McGlothin nearly a year ago when he parted ways with Leo Burnett, which hired him in 2012 to run a new L.A. hub created, MAL-style, to cater solely to the Samsung business (he also served on Burnett’s worldwide creative board before going freelance).
Over the past decade, McGlothin played visible roles at several major agencies, spending 2004-2010 with W+K before moving to ACD/GCD roles at CP+B and Deutsch L.A., respectively.
In addition to spots like this Samsung head-scratcher, his career to date includes work for clients like Coca-Cola, Nike, GAP and EA which has earned mentions at Cannes, the Clios, etc.
McGlothin has already created work for clients Microsoft and Red Bull since joining Omelet quietly back in May, and the release implies that he will work across the agency roster; he will report directly to partner/CCO Sarah Anderson.
Anderson writes that his “background in creating award-winning global campaigns along with his passion for visual storytelling makes him a powerful addition to our team.”
