Ghost of Paul Arden Haunts Saatchi’s New Directors Showcase

Today at Cannes, Saatchi & Saatchi debuted its 20th New Directors’ Showcase, continuing with its theme of “Nothing is Impossible” (not to be confused with Adidas’s “Impossible is Nothing” tag of course, because that would just be silly). The agency invited directors from across the globe to submit work and whittled everything down to the best 20 entries with “The Chosen One” being Yannick Puig’s “I lived on the Moon” (below).

More interestingly, Saatchi resurrected its former London ECD Paul Arden, who passed away two years ago, but was brought back in hologram form to MC the event as he introduced the first NDS back in 1991. Anyhow, Puig’s animated short beat out all the others who entered Saatchi and Aniboom’s “Nothing is Impossible” challenge that launched earlier this year.
