McCann NY Did What?
Sources straight from McCann Erickson Worldwide here in New York tells us that some shady shadiness has been happening there too, specifically with layoffs. Here’s the dirty dirty:
The shop, like most others before the fit hit the shan, was a bit fat with freelancers. Standard. But we hear that when the work slowed down, the freelancers weren’t cut. In fact, they all just sat around with nothing to do — thumb twiddling and all.
In all, we’ve heard from three freelancers who verified that they did very little for weeks and were still getting paid. Meanwhile full time employees were laid off. Please explain.
