Tony Schwartz, the man behind the infamous Daisy Ad, has died. The New York times called him a "self-taught, sought-after and highly reclusive media consultant." Schwartz helped create what is arguably the most famous political ad ever to appear on tv.

Schwartz suffered from agoraphobia since he was a teenager, but still managed to have a very successful career that spanned over half a century working in such capacities as an art director, advertising executive, radio host, Broadway sound designer, college professor, media theorist author, and maker of commercials, to name a few. Schwartz was 84.
