Ogilvy Gets A New Talent Officer

Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide has named Marie-Claire Barker, who has worked at the agency since 2002, as its Chief Talent Officer. She is replacing George Rose who is leaving Ogilvy after two years for an opportunity on the West Coast that will be announced shortly.

Marie-Claire? We beg of you to shake up the game. Ogilvy is known to be tough on employees (long hours, entrenched promotion policies) – how are you planning on attracting top talent? Are you going to go the same old route that includes forcing square pegs into round holes? Or are you going to bring Ogilvy into the 21st century in regards to talent procurement and retention? Tough job ya got there. Good luck.
