Omnicom Forms Digital Unit, Organic Founder to Lead

It may have posted some weak Q2 earnings as basically every agency umbrella did, but Omnicom Group has nevertheless announced the launch of Omnicom Digital, a new unit that will lead strategic initiatives across all the company’s digital properties.

Leading the charge as CEO of Omnicom Digital is Jonathan Nelson, founder and former chairman of digital agency Organic. Nelson, who also founded agency Accrue, joined Omnicom when it bought Organic in 2002 and had recently been serving as special adviser to Omnicom CEO John Wren. Nelson will be based in Omnicom’s New York headquarters.
