Predictions For The Ad Biz. It’s Almost 2009! Whoop!

lifeimagescrystalball.jpg

So, we’re predictable. We asked a bunch of big deal ad folks to give us their predictions for the ad biz in 2009. We’ll release a few a day until the big day – January 1. You can disagree or agree in the comments sections.

First up – Ian Schafer – CEO and founder of Deep Focus. So, Ian – what does your crystal ball tell you about 2009?

- Boutique media buying firms start taking business from the big boys.

- Facebook Connect has a measurable impact on the ad biz, and brands learn to work with Facebook, both resulting in actual increases in revenue for the behemoth (I love that word).

- More applications will be built expressly to work with Facebook Connect than for Facebook the site.

- MAJOR BDA consolidation will happen, but will result in homogenization.

- Digital branded entertainment initiatives will gain serious traction.
