Now that we’ve received entries from both Lowe Roche and john st., the latter of which has already claimed to have won the Best Agency Video prize at the 2013 Strategy AOY Awards, why not see what else came into play at this year’s event. Above, we have fellow Toronto-based agency Taxi’s submission for the Strategy AOYs, which shows a hapless soul taking ad award obsession to a, well, more fashion-conscious level. We wonder whose actual Cannes Lions they used in the clip, though we’re anxious to see how “okinawin denim,” “mini-wallets” and “pilgrim aesthetics” could possibly all join as one. Where does this rank out of the three we’ve covered for you? In the meantime, you can also check out the trade’s current 2013 winners list here.

In other Canadian agency-related news, Frazer Jelleyman, who last we heard left his ECD post at what was David&Goliath’s London branch, has resurfaced over two years later to take on the global chief creative officer role at TAXI. As a result of the move, which actually won’t take effect until Jan 3, 2013, current CCO Steve Mykolyn will shift over to the role of chief brand officer at TAXI. What does the latter’s new role entail, you ask? Well, Mykolyn will focus on honing the agency’s digital and social outreach and “amplifying” its “Doubt” philosophy (let TAXI co-founder Paul Lavoie explain what that is).
As for the incoming CCO, Jelleyman (pictured left) will be based in TAXI’s Toronto office once he assumes his post next year. Prior to his brief ECD stint at D&G, the creative exec spent nine years as CD/head of art at TBWA\London and had a decade-long stint as an art director a DDB London before that. In other TAXI-related news, Lance Martin, who we mentioned, oh, about 30 minutes ago in the Union post, will be vacating his ECD post at TAXI 2 effective Nov. 30. The 12-year vet will be replaced by Darren Clarke in the interim.
While we’re on the awards tip, might as well get this out of the way. Apparently, the One Club is feeling quite whimsical at the moment, which explains the theme of their 2012 One Show Call for Entries campaign. Yes, as you see above, everything’s “ONEderful” in the world of the One Show, which will take place the week of May 7, 2012 in NYC. It looks like the halcion kicked in judging by the ONEderful campaign poster above, which was created by D.C.-based Design Army. The deadline for all One Club award shows, as you can see, is January 31 (anyone want to bet we’ll see a deadline extension soon?). You can enter here.
As for your jury list, familiar names like Eric Silver, Steve Simpson, Jeff Benjamin and Will McGinness are all included. Peep it in full after the jump.
