Desir, Digitas Part Ways After Barely Four Months

We’re not sure what went wrong here, but as those in know tell us, “some unions just don’t work out.” Just months after joining Digitas New York (alongside Doug Speidel) as VP/group director, head of experience design, sources familiar with the matter confirm that Fritz Desir and the agency are parting ways. Desir, who our sources describe as a “good man” and “smart” (well, we guess the latter has to be somewhat true considering his position), has also worked in similar positions at RAPP as CD, experience design and at Tribal DDB as director, strategy experience & architecture. No word yet on the exact reason for the split or where Desir’s headed to next, but perhaps the opening line of this post explains it.

A ‘Most Lusted After’ Creative Joins Digitas

If you didn’t catch Business Insider‘s jarring “37 Creatives Most Lusted After by Rival Agencies” report, well, here’s one of those mentioned. After spending the last three years as SVP/executive creative director on Diageo, Nikon and other accounts at MRM, Doug Speidel has moved over to Digitas to take on the similar role of SVP/creative at the Publicis Groupe agency’s New York office. Prior to his time at MRM, Speidel (pictured), among other things, helped launch TBWA\Chiat\Day’s TEQUILA\ unit, where he served as ECD.

Joining Speidel at at Digitas NY is Tribal DDB alum Fritz Desir, who assumes the position of VP/group director, head of experience design. During his career, Desir also led experience design departments at the likes of RAPP.

For the third consecutive year, MRM is staging a year-long competition for eager jobseekers who get to live in the trendiest neighborhood of New York without paying a dime. They call it “The Apartment,” and the social experiment with match Sasha Flynn, Katie Koepfinger, Carina Tous and Melike Turgut against each other for the ultimate prize: a salary with benefits.

For 12 months, the foursome will work on MRM Worldwide brands like General Mills, Chase and Nikon.
