We Hear: Remling Splits from AKQA

We’ve been hearing about this since the beginning of the week, and although the tips have been piling up, AKQA will not comment on word we’ve received that Jennifer Remling has left the agency. Here’s the last tip that was sent to us about this: “Confirmed: Jennifer Remling, Global Director of Recruiting for AKQA has left the building. Going to R/GA. Thursday 9/13 was her last day.” While AKQA keeps schtum, we’re of course checking with R/GA on the matter, though frankly sometimes it feels like pulling teeth with the latter.

Anyhow, Remling has spent the last 18 months in her aforementioned post at AKQA, working out of the agency’s San Francisco office. Prior to AKQA, she spent time on the talent acquisition side at the likes of Sapient and 360i. We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear from the R/GA camp on the matter.

‘DavidOnDemand’ Lands New Gig at AKQA SF? (Updated)

His LinkedIn hasn’t been updated to reflect any changes as of today, but a Twitter post from David Perez, aka @DavidOnDemand, perhaps says it all. Perez, of course, made a splash in the media world two years ago ahead of the Cannes Lions by being a slave to whims of the Twitterverse, which in turn earned him a trip to the festival. We’re checking with the AKQA camp for verification on Perez’s arrival in San Francisco. The Chicago native has spent the last four years as a creative recruiter at Leo Burnett and Lapiz. We’ll keep you posted.

Update: Perez himself has confirmed that he will indeed be recruiting creatives at AKQA SF come May, adding via DM, “Will ALWAYS love Leo. Greatest place on earth.”

Update 2: AKQA also confirms Perez’s upcoming arrival in the Bay Area, adding that his official title will be senior creative recruiting manager. And yes, he will be based in the San Francisco office and report to Jennifer Remling, global director of recruiting.
