McKinney Alum Delbridge Heads to the West Coast

It’s been nearly eight months since we last heard a peep regarding Andrew Delbridge, who if you may recall last served as partner/chief strategy officer at now-Cheil-owned McKinney. Well, we’ve received news that the exec has finally resurfaced, this time in Huntington Beach, CA to serve as chief strategy and engagement officer at Hispanic agency, Grupo Gallegos. Delbridge, who assumed his new title this week, marks the third senior-level hire this year at Grupo Gallegos, which tapped Conill’s Pablo Buffagni to serve as its chief creative officer in March and welcomed BBH New York alum Joe Da Silva as managing director two months ago.

As mentioned, Delbridge arrives from McKinney, where he spent a dozen years in all (and consulted for after he was out as CSO, apparently). During his career, the newest Grupo Gallegos higher-up also spent ten years as board member of the 4As strategy committee and two of those as chairman. Oh yeah, and there was his appearance or two on The Pitch, lest we forget. As for Grupo Gallegos, the agency has worked on Hispanic-targeted efforts for the likes of Comcast, Clorox, Got Milk? and Denny’s.

BBH NY GM Moves On

While riding high off of ads including “Susan Glenn” and the whole hair-meeting-breasts love story, BBH New York has lost its general manager and longtime agency vet, Joe Da Silva. Here’s a quick statement from the BBH camp below:
“After 22 great years, BBH General Manager Joe Da Silva has decided to depart the agency to pursue exciting new opportunities.  Joe has been a fantastic and much-loved member of the BBH family, both here and in London, for many many years – a friend as well as a colleague to many of us in the agency.  We obviously wish him the very best and know that he will be a great success in whatever new path he chooses to pursue.”
Sources familiar with the matter add that Da Silva is moving not only positions professionally but locations geographically, and has a new job lined up. Unfortunately, we’ve been told that the exec can’t share any details on but he said it will be announced in the near future.
