BBH Welcomes Densmore as Global Chief Growth Officer

bbhgrowthBBH has welcomed a new global chief growth officer in Michael Densmore, who you may remember from his brief stint (nine months, give or take) on the account planning and business development side at Droga5. Densmore will officially assume his post at BBH’s New York office post-Memorial Day and will work across the agency’s London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Mumbai offices, though there will be emphasis on North America-based global businesses.

Prior to joining BBH, Densmore served as chief marketing officer at McKinney. The 20-year ad vet’s additional agency credits include time spent with JWT, Mondernista!, Fallon and W+K.

In a statement, BBH NA CEO Pat Lafferty says, “Creating the new role of Chief Global Growth Officer was a natural next step and Mike will help us continue our momentum. Mike’s been on several sides of the ad and marketing business, and his breadth of experience truly makes him the ideal choice to navigate growth for the agency.”

McCann Worldgroup Presidents to Take on Added Responsibility

After promoting Pat Lafferty to COO of McCann Erickson North America last fall, McCann Worldgroup has finally found leadership to succeed the exec in the Global Brand community he established in 2011. Taking over as joint leaders of the GBC will be McCann Worldgroup Europe president Gustavo Martinez, who replaced Brett Gosper a year ago, and Luca Lindner, president of Worldgroup ops in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Both execs will maintain their current roles while also assuming the title of president, Global Brands.

The Global Brand group consists of the leaders of McCann Worldgroup’s global accounts including L’Oreal, MasterCard, Nestle and Coca-Cola. The added responsibility should be familiar to Martinez, who previously held the dual roles of global new business director and head of the Global Brand Management division at Ogilvy. Brazil-based Lindner, meanwhile, is a Leo Burnet EMEA alum who joined McCann in 2005 as regional director of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Summy Takes Prez Post at McCann North America

Digital marketing vet Hank Summy is taking over the reins at McCann Erickson North America as the SapientNitro alum will assume the role of NA president come November. Summy most recently served as managing director of Sapient’s NY-based Eastern region and was part of the agency’s overall leadership team. Now at McCann, he will work alongside CCO Linus Karlsson and be responsible for McCann agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada.

In addition, Pat Lafferty has been bumped up to COO of McCann Erickson North America just a year after joining the agency as MD of global brands. Summy and Lafferty’s boss, McCann Worldgroup CEO/chairman Nick Brien, says in a statement, “[Hank]has successfully built technology-marketing businesses that have all achieved double digital growth and deep levels of client satisfaction. Pat is the ideal partner for him, having proven himself to be a highly effective leader across many of our most complex global accounts.”
