Here’s a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Famous Footwear’s ‘Frozen Moments’

A couple of weeks ago, we posted the video for Campbell Mithun’s “Frozen Moments” slow-mo spot for Famous Footwear. Thanks to DP Vincent Laforet, we now have an inside look of how the production team created a snowy neighborhood this summer on a sound stage, set to a score of Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson.

Originally titled “Neighborhood,” the spot’s name was later changed to “Frozen Moments” in production. Surprisingly, all of the actors still look really good without the digital touch-ups of the final spot (woman: gorgeous, children: adorable, guy: hunky). And, while Spike Jonze’s slow-motion guy on fire doesn’t make a guest appearance, the production team seems to get along fine without him.

Stray observations:

:50 – The bespectacled Laforet is stared at by someone who looks exactly like Billy Bob Thornton.

1:12 – Laforet has an intimate moment with a walkie-talkie.

1:25 – A small child spots a man on a ladder.

1:33 – Camera equipment is heavy.

1:37 – The inevitable on-set nip-slip occurs.

1:42 – A look into the personalities of our male and female leads.
