Let’s Watch an Editor Shamelessly Self-Promote His Own Promotion

Agencies, clients, headhunters, whomever, we guess this clip is for you. Besides a LinkedIn change or the usual PR spin cycle, we usually don’t see promotion announcements quite like this. But, we can gather that one Sean Halverson is on the market, potential professional contacts, and here’s his own self-produced video announcing his promotion to editor. If you don’t know who Halverson is, the apparent lothario works for Chicago-based editorial/VFX company Hootenanny, which gave us this mock infomercial that actually stars our subject (who edits/writes its Friday short film clips and has worked with the likes of DFCB, Leo Burnett and EnergyBBDO). Call it an application, shameless plug, whatever, but as you’ll see in the clip, this dude really “wants to work with you.”

Chicago Studio Shows Off ‘Sexy’ Editors via Mock Infomercial

Over the past couple of months, Chicago-based VFX/editorial company Hootenanny has been releasing a series of amusing clips that were written and directed by staffer Sean Halvorsen. In this latest installment called “After Dark,” which of course mocks those terrible late-night dating ads but with even worse production value, the Hootenanny editorial staff wants you creatives out there to know that they’re ready to unzip your big files and stay up all night…working. When it comes to faux-infomercials/shameless self-promotion, we say this probably tops Big Fuel’s recruitment vid from earlier this year.
