With McAllister Out, Who’s In at Organic?

That’s the question we’ve asked to those in the know this morning, but have yet to hear back about. In the meantime, as spies have mentioned, Amy McAllister has left her post as SVP/general manager of Organic’s New York for a gig as executive director, digital marketing group at the former bailout beneficiary that is JP Morgan Chase. Anyhow, McAllister spent three years in all at Organic, succeeding Minna Rhee back in 2010 after spending two years at O&M and ten years before that at Digitas, where she last served as SVP/marketing.

As noted above, we put in inquiries about immediate plans to replace McAllister, who’s not the only senior-level exec to leave Organic as of late. Recently, Drew Meyers split from Organic’s SF office, where he served as client services/engagement management lead, to assume the role of president at gyro SF and lead the agency alongside ECD, Steffan Postaer. Of course, Meyers, who’s also served on the digital account and/or management side at MRM/McCann and Publicis West during his career, spent just 10 months at Organic. Anyhow, we’ll fill you in if and when replacements for both aforementioned execs are found.

Is Blake Ebel Out at Factory Design Labs?

Yeesh, guess it’s one of those days. Something’s amiss at Denver-based Factory Design Labs as Blake Ebel, who resigned from his co-chief creative officer post at Euro RSCG Chicago in the summer of 2010 to join up with the former shop in the same role, is no longer on its agency leadership list. Ebel, if you recall, spent six years at Euro Chi and had a brief stint as co-CCO alongside Steffan Postaer, who also left the agency himself just six months later. During his career, Ebel has also worked as a VP, creative director at Y&R as well as senior art director at JWT.

Olson ECD Fugleberg Named Chief Brand Officer

A promotion, a lateral move, something else? However you want to slice it, Olson has appointed executive creative director Tom Fugleberg to the newly created position of chief brand officer. Fugleberg, who has been with Olson since 1997 and ECD since 2006, says in a statement, “To make the Olson brand my sole focus, and to be able to hand the reins of creative leadership over to someone who’s going to kick things to eleven, is a great privilege. I’m proud to be part of a company that does what it needs to do to become better every day, and I’m ready for this incredible new chapter for Olson.”

With this move, which somewhat reminds us of Euro RSCG’s arrangement with Steffan Postaer once Jason Peterson took over, Minneapolis-based Olson is now on a nationwide hunt for its first-ever CCO. Meanwhile, in his new post, Fugleberg has been “entrusted…as the keeper of the flame of our own very important Olson brand” according to agency president/CEO Kevin DiLorenzo.

Update: We’ve been told that the Fugleberg move is indeed a promotion and that the agency’s been working toward it for some time.

Steffan Postaer Out at Euro RSCG

Our tipsters were spot-on yet again. Since the holidays, we’ve been hearing that Steffan Postaer, who was “promoted” to chairman at Euro RSCG Chicago once Jason Peterson was hired as CCO, is leaving the agency. After a few back-and-forths with the agency that led nowhere, we’ve finally received confirmation that Postaer is officially out at Euro Chi come next week. Postaer recently took a trip and once he returned, both parties decided it would be best to part ways. Sources familiar with the matter tell us that he was “instrumental” in building the Chicago office over the course of his six years there. Here’s their full statement:

“After six years of creative leadership at Euro RSCG Chicago, Chairman Steffan Postaer will be leaving the agency as of January 14. We thank him for his role in helping to drive the dramatic growth of our agency, and his leadership in helping us become a unified agency, combining advertising and digital into a new model. We wish him the very best with his personal writing and future projects.”
