Markham, CP+B Part Ways

After spending the last 15 months in Boulder at CP+B, where he last served as VP/executive creative director on accounts including Kraft Mac ‘n Cheese and Grey Poupon, Tom Markham is leaving the agency. From what sources tell us, Markham’s family wants to be in NYC, which is familiar territory for the senior creative as he spent two years working out of Lowe and Partners’ Big Apple office as global digital CD prior to joining Crispin. Markham’s departure seems to be an amicable one, as CP+B sends this statement: “”We truly appreciate all of Tom Markham’s contributions to CP+B. We will miss him and remain great friends.”

According to those in the know, there are no immediate plans to replace Markham, who has also served as head of digital/digital CD at Lowe Sydney during his career. His last day at CP+B was yesterday.

CP+B Promotes Markham to ECD

After just eight months, Crispin Porter + Bogusky has instilled enough faith in Tom Markham to name him as executive creative director at the Boulder-based operation. Prior to CP+B, Markham served as global creative director at Lowe’s operation in the NYC area, where he managed the digital output of its 75 agencies around the world. Now at CP+B, Markham. who will serve as Crispin’s “most senior interactive creative,” is working on the Kraft business. According to a statement from the agency’s worldwide CCO Rob Reilly, is ready to “…get his hands dirty in the creative process again. In doing so, he quickly made significant contributions with his creative leadership and infectious positivity. He will have an even greater impact on our clients and within our walls as ECD.”

Markham Joins CP+B as Digital CD

According to the Crispin camp, Lowe alum Tom Markham is heading to Boulder to serve as “the most senior ‘hands–on’ interactive creative” and will work across the agency’s client roster (a Matt O’Rourke replacement perhaps?). During his seven years at Lowe Worldwide, Markham worked primarily as global digital creative director on Unilever but also made the rounds in Auckland and Sydney as interactive CD for Vodafone and others.

In a statement, CP+B CCO Jeff Benjamin gushes about the new hire, saying, ““We’re the luckiest ad agency in the world. Everyone in the industry is looking for senior creative talent and getting someone as great in the digital space as Tom is a huge win for our clients and our team.”
