WPP’s David Documents the Rise and Fall of ‘Subservient Chicken’ for Burger King

Today Burger King dropped the first spot by its new global AOR, WPP agency David.

As a faux “where are they now” covering the CP+B original’s fall from fame and return to viral advertising, it’s about as meta as you would expect.

It’s also more than a little “Rocky”: there’s an Italian trainer; there’s an instrumental montage; there’s at least one raw egg; there’s Screech as a costumed Mexican chicken fighter.

The parties have installed a 5-volt battery-powered USB port within a display ad in select bus shelters in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston that lets you charge your USB-compatible mobile, gaming device or MP3 player. The above pic, which was taken at the Chicago unit, shows you everything you need to know and the tagline itself seems fitting enough, but we’re still not sure if it makes being stuck at the bus stop more worth it. The Budweiser Frogs Were Never this Jumpy

Has it already been a week since CP+B and VitaminWater became more intimate (no AOR)? My, how time flies, but here’s the second advert in the “You’re Up” campaign for the Coke brand called “Frog.” According to the credits, this spot was created under the leadership of ECD Ari Merkin and even involves the services of a “cognitive anthropologist.” Very ambitious, indeed. See full credits after the jump.
