Carmichael Lynch Gets ‘Distracted’ for Subaru

Carmichael Lynch has another new spot for Subaru, following the release of a campaign promoting the Subaru Outback just last week.

This time around, Carmichael Lynch has crafted a spot for the Subaru Legacy. In the 30-second ad, a teenage boy is distracted by girl-minded daydreams when the Legacy’s obstacle-detection technology comes to the rescue. While his daydreams are squeaky clean compared to what actual teenage boys fantasize about, it’s still a relatively realistic scenario which makes a lot of sense as an approach for a family car, whose customers are likely to have to lend to their adolescent kid at some point. So while there’s not enough truth here for a full laugh, there’s more than enough to effectively make a point about the Legacy’s safety. Read more

Lesson Never Learned: Jack Link’s Once Again Sullies Up to Sasquatch

It’s been almost a year since we last covered Jack Link’s and their Sasquatch antihero, but everyone’s favorite ugly creature is back to sell some beef jerky and beat up anyone who messes with him (it). Minneapolis-based agency Carmichael Lynch has produced three new spots for the campaign, all of which were once again directed by Rocky Morton.

In the above commercial – “All Dolled Up” – three fools try to get their kicks by putting makeup on Sasquatch. He responds by flipping their car and possibly killing them, because, well,  Sasquatch doesn’t wear lipstick. The ads tap into the creature’s vaguely redneck brand appeal with foggy rural settings and the fact that the product is beef jerky. If I learned anything here, it’s to avoid Jack Link’s beef jerky, because eating it will lead to serious personal injury and an upset Sasquatch. Two more clips and the credits after the jump.

Jack Link’s Sasquatch Takes Revenge One Step Further

When will these jerky Jack Link’s characters ever learn? Just don’t mess around with a mythical creature when he’s hungry, or just in any situation whatsoever. Anyhow, we guess their ignorance has been Carmichael Lynch’s gain over the years as the agency has picked up Effies among other prizes for its ongoing Sasquatch-starring campaign for Jack Link’s. Here, we have yet another set of buffoons who unfortunately decide to have some fun with our hairy protagonist, this time in the form of snakes in a can. As you’d expect, Sasquatch gets his in the most frightening, yet appropriate, of ways in this latest spot, which was directed by MJZ’s Rocky Morton and probably could’ve used the services of Samuel L. Jackson. Credits after the jump.
