It’s okay if you’ve never heard of Corky Carroll, hall of fame surfer. The same goes for country radio personality Shawn Parr and Cal State Fullerton President Mildred Garcia. All you need to know is that they’re singing to raise money for mammogram funding, and that’s enough reason to watch a 90-second video and take notice.
Cali-agency HKA Public Relations created the video for Susan G. Komen Orange County. In the clip, Vanna White and a dozen other people who aren’t actually famous take turns singing lines about mammograms and breast cancer awareness to the tune of “Winter Wonderland.” HKA’s effort is the sort of low-budget charitable pitch that doesn’t try too hard to Sarah McLachlan its way into your head, and we should all be thankful for that.
