As a Junior Web Developer, you will be an integral part of the growing Mediabistro Inc. business products/services within the IT team. The opportunity is for a diverse individual who wants to create solutions for our 30+ web sites using various technologies. If you're looking to join a smaller development team that has a say in UI/UX solutions, then we have a job for you.
Your activities include:
- Producing and maintaining digital deliverables using visual mockups, established branding, and business requirements
- Creating and maintaining a variety of websites, including landing pages and microsites, using HTML/CSS/Javascript
- Working with the Art Director to build out new designs and update existing designs for our sites
- Working with the marketing team to create HTML email templates using industry standards and efficient nested table structures
- Training and supporting users to add and update HTML templates that you will create for them
You should:
- Be fluent in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Be proficient in coding for cross-browser compatibility
- Have working knowledge of building HTML emails
- Be comfortable using Photoshop
- Have experience with a source control system, like Git and Perforce
- Be able to troubleshoot issues
- Experience with WordPress templates
- Knowledge of other programming languages: PHP, Python, .NET or VBScript
- An interest in media and social media
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
