Job Requirements We’re looking for a creative, driven, experienced senior producer to work at Yahoo! Studios overseeing the original video programs that appear on Yahoo! Finance. We produce a variety of daily and weekly shows in both the studio and in the field.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience managing a show staff, developing shows and segments in Financial TV and online. The candidate must have experience producing A-list on-camera guests, top investors and corporate leaders. A sophisticated knowledge of economics and financial markets is highly preferred, paired with a broad cultural awareness. Online experience is a must. The candidate needs to know an instinct for what “clicks.”

The job requires a journalist who is a highly motivated newshound and keenly interested in the future of media. You need to pitch timely, smart segments and show concepts for an online audience. You need to be able to multitask and execute a concept from start to finish – communicating with internal staff and external partners, juggling logistics, preparing research, and managing a staff. You should know how to write scripts and headlines for the Web. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and independent worker. At the same time, he or she must be adaptable and flexible, a team player who is able to mix easily and work effectively in our highly collaborative newsroom and company. You should love your profession and practice it with integrity and enthusiasm. You need to be responsible and 100% reliable. No task it too large or too small for this role.

Responsibilities:
• Generating exceptional story ideas, including breaking news and creative story angles
• Develop show concepts for the Yahoo! Finance audience
• Show runner who manages a staff of producers
• Coordinating story coverage with hosts, producers, and studio production staff
• Booking A-list guests, requiring excellent communication skills
• Handling shoot schedules – with producers, guests, studios, feeds
• Tracking, analyzing and driving results
• Making sure content both meets our standards and serves our audience needs
• Participating in social media and achieving an active rapport with users
• Collaborating with colleagues within Yahoo! Finance and across Yahoo!
• Pitching content to editorial teams within Yahoo! and to the Web at-large
• Fielding and attracting quality tips and inquiries from various sources
• Keeping an eye out for emerging trends
• Actively contributing to the betterment of Yahoo! Finance and Yahoo! broadly

Requirements:
• 3 plus years leading a team of talent and production staff and helping set the editorial direction for a show.
• 10 years of experience in financial journalism; experience online specifically is a must
• Knowledge of news video/live and taped TV production
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Strong grammar, copyediting and communication skills
• Familiarity with SEO, RSS, Twitter, Facebook and other social media
• Experience with blog publishing and content management systems
