All You Need to Know About Twitter in 2010 [Infographic]

Reaching 90,000 tweets a day, a $3+ billion valuation and a first annual developer conference are some highlights of the past 12 months in Twitter’s history. 2010 saw many changes and lots of growth for the microblogging service, and Flowtown has created an infographic timeline to capture all of these and other great Twitter moments of 2010.

Twitter saw the most growth this year than any other, both in terms of users and its features. It ballooned from 75 million users in the beginning of the year to over 190 million, and by the end of 2010 there were over 90,000 tweets being sent out per day.

Twitter also added Promoted Products this year, its first advertising solution and the first real way that the service has been able to make any money.

The company also saw a shift in leadership, with Dick Costolo taking over the CEO position from co-founder Ev Williams. And Twitter acquired millions of dollars worth of startups and various teams to help with behind-the-scenes tinkering.

2010 also saw some new, high-profile faces join Twitter. Bill Gates signed on in early January, while Tiger Woods joined in late November. In between Twitter saw the likes of Hugo Chavez, Conan O’Brien and Kanye West create accounts.

Flowtown has put all of these and many other Twitter events onto their infographic “A Year of Twitter” earlier this month. Take a look below:
