If You Hit And Run, You Probably Shouldn’t Tweet They Deserved It

Scratch that, if you hit and run, you shouldn’t tweet about it at ALL, but tweeting they deserved it is just all kinds of crazy.

And it seems this Twitter user is just that.

Did you know that bicyclists don’t pay road tax in England? And guess what – neither do motorists.

Roads are maintained by ALL taxpayers: “All tax payers pay for roads, not just motorists. Those who pay income tax and those who pay council tax are the ones who pay for roads.”

Well, someone should’ve told Emma Way. Maybe then she wouldn’t have so blithely knocked someone off their bicycle and then bragged about it on Twitter:

And then the police wouldn’t have reached out to her:

 

And found her:

Ms Way was quickly identified from her Facebook page and the police were sent other examples of her poor driving: she had taken taking photographs of herself tailgating other motorists, and even photographed her speedometer showing a speed of 95mph.

And then she wouldn’t have been a subject of public ridicule online. Yikes.

The person she hit has been identified and had this to say to the BBC:

Mr Hockley, 29, from Norwich, was riding with Iceni Velo cycling club on a narrow country lane, about five miles away from the end of the route at Snetterton.

“A car came tearing round the blind corner and narrowly missed a cyclist in front of me,” he said.

“She came on to my side of the road, I took the wing mirror off and I went flying off my bike into a hedge.

“She hit me hard, really hard. I am lucky to be alive.

“But I managed to get out of the hedge and stand up.

“The car was nowhere to be seen. She hit me and she was gone.

“All I know is that it was a blonde girl driving.”

That sounds like her!

And if it wasn’t her, the foolish tweet she sent, along with the Facebook posts, will make her defense have a pretty tough time proving otherwise.
