HootSuite, one of the most popular third-party Twitter dashboards, has just reached its million member milestone. Welcoming in the millionth member, HootSuite released an infographic illustrating just how its users are engaging with its dashboard over the past two years.
The timing couldn’t be better for Hootsuite, as it turns two in December. Reaching 1,000,000 members on your second birthday is a pretty great gift for a social media platform.
The HootSuite blog announced its million member milestone along with other milestones the company has achieved along the way. Notably, they created a freemium service to cater to free and enterprise solutions, and they were the first platform to integrate Promoted Tweets outside of Twitter.com.
Along with the million member announcement, HootSuite gave away an iPad to the Twitter user who guessed exactly when the millionth member would be added.
The commemorative infographic includes some interesting stats about how HootSuite is used by its users. One million messages are sent per day on the network, 91% of which are on Twitter. In total, Twitter makes up 61% of all social networks connected to HootSuite, with Facebook coming in second with 27%.
