Celebrities and other Twitterati can reign supreme every other day, but if you have a loved one who has served (or is serving now) in the military, Hashtags4Heroes wants to help your special someone take center stage this Memorial Day.
All you have to do is tweet a photo of your military hero, past or present, along with the #HT4H hashtag and you’ll see his/her photo and story spotlighted on the Hashtags4Heroes wall.
This year, the effort they’re promoting is truly inspired:
It was an old-fashioned photo album with a weathered cover. The pages were discolored. The faded images were black and white, but the memories were anything but.
“My dad was a young airplane mechanic during World War II,” said Corinne Kovalsky, the company’s director of digital and social media. “To be able to share his photo and recognize his contribution means a lot.”
So this weekend, when you share a tweet, your special hero will populate this wall:
Clicking on any photo displays the corresponding tweet, often a poignant snippet of a veteran’s larger story:
So as we wrap up National Military Appreciation Month here in the U.S., join the #HT4H Faces of Service gallery and spotlight those who have served in the Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves throughout history, as well as those who serve so selflessly today.
We look forward to reading your stories!
