The 2013 NBA Playoffs are in full swing, and Twitter is capitalizing on one of the most-watched sporting events of the year by teaming up with NBA Digital to stream replays of in-game highlights.
On the heels of an amped-up partnership with ESPN, Twitter is giving basketball fans serious justification for watching the playoffs with a second screen.
YouTube continues to reign supreme as the top brand on Twitter, with its close-to 28 million followers enough for sixth place overall amongst all profiles on the micro-blogging social network, and more than seven million ahead of second-placed Instagram amongst brands.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – moms are some of the most active users of social media that you will find.
Moreover, they’re big evangelists of digital brands- 84 percent of moms go online when looking for product and brand recommendations, and two-thirds (65 percent) say that they have learned about a product or service through social networking.

Today we give thanks for the Twitter co-founders penchant for interesting names. We have, of course, the Obvious Corp (which is anything but) and Square (that cool “pay using my smartphone” device), the new blogging platform Medium – and now, bestest of all – Jelly.
Beyond wondering if they’ve employed someone solely to come up with these names, this latest mushy gushy creation of Biz Stone that has left people wondering: “What the Jelly?”
If you’ve spent any amount of time on Twitter, you’ve likely received a TrueTwit validation direct message. It says something like “Nelly Nameless uses TrueTwit validation service. Please validate your account.”
If you think this practice is okay, you need a Twitter direct message refresher. And when you’re done reading THAT, we’ll tell you why this “harmless annoyance” (aka TrueTwit) is anything but.
