What are your highlights of the social media scene, circa 2013?
It’s been one heck of a year. Back in January Twitter introduced Vine to the world, which has gone from strength-to-strength. February saw a huge bump in hashtags used on Superbowl ads, and in March the University of Florida offered the first graduate social masters program.
In June Instagram launched video, and Miley’s twerking at the August VMAs triggered hundreds of thousands of tweets. Snapchat reported 350 million photo shares per day in September, Twitter’s IPO took place in November and Beyond’s “surprise!” album launch on Instagram might just have changed the way that superstars market their music.
