More than a quarter of a billion people will use social media platforms in Latin America in 2014, with about 28 million expected to be active on Twitter, reports eMarketer.
Brazil is Twitter’s biggest player in the region, with about 12.7 million active users. However, overall Twitter remains some way behind Facebook’s presence throughout Latin America, with the latter boasting more than 200 million actives.
Social ad spend in these countries is tipped to reach $481 million this year, passing the half-billion mark in 2015.
