Did you know that nine in ten companies mine online profiles before hiring, and almost half (43 percent) say that they find higher quality candidates this way?
Indeed, recruiters can spend as little as six seconds on the average resume. After that, 92 percent check the candidate’s LinkedIn profile, 66 percent check their Facebook page and more than half (52 percent) vet them on Twitter.
And, like it or not, social influence metrics such as Klout are increasingly being used by employers to gauge applicants.
