Twitter Beats Facebook For Social Sharing (And, Yes, Google+ Is A Ghost Town) [STUDY]

You’ve probably heard it a million times: Google+ is a ghost town.

Heck, I’ve said it myself. It is a ghost town. Google might claim 170 million users, but because anyone with a Google account – you know, Gmail, YouTube and so on – is effectively bolted on to Google+ automatically, it’s debatable how many of those folks are truly active. And because Google isn’t exactly forthcoming with key data, like actual usage statistics, or session length, it all feels a little duplicitous. Sneaky, even.

So what do we know? Back in February, independent data suggested that users spent just 3.3 minutes on Google+ in January, compared to 7.5 hours for Facebook. Now, a new study has revealed just how ineffective Google+ is as a social sharing platform, certainly compared to Twitter.

Is Google+ *Really* More Highly Rated Than Twitter And Facebook? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Recently we investigated findings from the 2012 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which tracks a variety of economic sectors, industries, companies and government services, including social media, reporting scores on a scale of 0 to 100 in customer satisfaction.

This year, four new social channels made the ASCI shortlist, including Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, to be judged alongside Facebook, which has been a mainstay in the index since 2010.

And your winner? That would be Google+, which rated higher than any other property in the entire social media sector.

Twitter’s Got Talent: For Every One Employee Who Leaves, Twitter Hires 11 New People

The ongoing talent war between the major tech companies gets a ton of attention, with the media particularly lapping up stories about Google’s eye-popping ‘please don’t go to Facebook’ cash bonuses for their software engineers.

These attempts by the dominant tech firms to poach employees from each other are nothing new, with Microsoft sued back in 1997 for trying to lure across staff from Borland. Google was sued by Microsoft for the same thing eight years later, and now everybody seems to be worried about Facebook.

But who is dominating the talent war? Who is losing the least amount of people whilst hiring the most? According to new data released by social recruiting site TopProspect, the winner is Twitter, which (incredibly) has hired almost 11 new people for every one person who leaves the company.
