Twitter Competitor App.net Goes ‘Freemium’

Remember when you had to get invited to gmail? It was THE email to have for a short period of time because of that little marketing gimmick. And then folks were given limitless invitations and snagging access wasn’t quite so special any more.

Well, App.net – or ADN as the cool kids call it – is now doing something similar, with the same goal in mind: ratcheting up its desirability and giving membership a boost.

But will it work?

Continue Sharing Instagram Pics On Twitter With This IFTTT Recipe

After sharing a few ways to post Instagram photos to Twitter after they disconnect, one commenter, Eric Schatz, asked if there was a reason why an IFTT trigger wouldn’t work.

We didn’t know if IFTTT was cutting off access to Twitter entirely (a la Instagram) since the company sent its users an email explaining that they would no longer be able to tap into the Twitter API, so all recipes that included Twitter would stop functioning after September 27th. Maybe it still will – who knows?

But as of now, you can use IFTTT to send stuff TO Twitter. You just can’t go the other way. Happy day.

After LinkedIn, Instagram, Tumblr, The Latest To Get Disconnected From Twitter Is IFTTT

Twitter has been on a virtual rampage lately, shutting its doors to prominent companies who had been used to displaying and interacting tweets for years. Businesses like LinkedIn appear to be doing just fine after being ousted by Twitter, but the latest to be put on the chopping block might not be so lucky.

Tweet Your Social Content More Efficiently With Buffer And Ifttt

Buffer is one of the darling Twitter apps of the tweet elite. It allows you to add content items – a link, a retweet – to your buffer, and schedules them to be tweeted from your Twitter account at optimal time throughout the day.

Now, Buffer has expanded how you can share your social content by partnering with Ifttt (If this then that). The combo of these two apps now lets you share nearly anything you like on the web with your Twitter followers, at the best time of day to see high engagement rates.
