Four Twitter Predictions For 2013

We’re two days into the new year now, a great vantage point for looking ahead and assessing how Twitter might perform in 2013.

The past year saw the introduction of Twitter photo filters, brand new Twitter profiles including the platform’s first-ever cover photos, significant Twitter mobile app updates and more.

2012 was also contentious for Twitter. This year, Twitter put new restrictions on what it would allow third-party developers to do, and went to war with former ally Instagram over photo-sharing dominance of social media.

What will 2013 bring for Twitter? Five predictions, below.

Twitter in 2011: The Year of Spam Accounts, Breaking News and Micro-Prayers

New Year’s Eve. A time for hope. A time to start over. A time to consume enough cups of good-cheer to make us wake up on New Years Day to a timeline of sloppy Tweets, telling our followers that we love them, …or hate them. …or that we are IN love with them.

Top 10 Twitter New Years Resolutions for 2011

New Years Eve is the time for promises to go to the gym that fizzle out in three weeks, renewed commitments to diets that are given up by Valentine’s Day, and predictions about the end of the world that (sadly) are never realized. And Twitter is no stranger to these varied predictions and resolutions that roll around with every new year.
