Shopping And Social Media: The Retailer’s Guide To Big Data [INFOGRAPHIC]

Retailers have leveraged customer data for the benefit of their brick-and-mortar stores for decades. But how has that changed with the explosion of big data? (Read: 400 million tweets a day, and the prospective digital data equivalent of 18 Libraries of Congress by 2015).

Monetate and Column Five created an infographic to answer that question.

If you’re in the retail business – either on the selling or shopping end of things – you’ll want to take a look.

Only 44% Of Customer Questions On Twitter Are Answered Within 24 Hours [STUDY]

Got a question about that phone you just bought? You might want to take the old-school approach and wade through option after option on the company’s customer service phone line if this new study is any indicator.

Of the customer service questions sent to the top 25 online retailers on Twitter, only 44 percent were answered within 24 hours, and only two companies are guaranteed to actually get back to you.

Facebook, Twitter And The State Of Social Commerce [INFOGRAPHIC]

Have you bought something online this week? This month? Ever? If so, you’re part of a growing consumer base who prefers to shop from the convenience of their computer screens rather than trudge to the store.

While online shopping is nothing new, social shopping is a relatively new and growing phenomenon. Getting recommendations from friends, deals from a Twitter account you follow, and buying clothes right on Facebook are new ways to make shopping online more social. But just how often are retailers adding social to their shopping experience?
