As recently as six months ago, when you did a Google search in Chrome, relevant tweets would show up in your search results.
Which was super helpful, especially if you were looking for timely, ultra-relevant information. But Twitter put a stop to that technology.

In December 2010, Google and Bing confirmed that Facebook and Twitter affected search rankings. And although marketers suspected as much for some time, the confirmation seemed to signal the ushering in of a new, more social internet. Now, SEOmoz has released some interesting data about just what social signals Google and Bing take into consideration and how much influence they have on search engine results – and Twitter, it seems, isn’t as big of a deal as everyone thought.

It looks like Google is experimenting with changing the way Twitter appears in its search results. Rather than linking to the account and including a generic blurb about someone being on Twitter, Google now displays the most recent tweets from that user right in its search results.
