Twitter Teams Up With HootSuite To Sell Ads, Preferred Users Get $100 Credit

A lot has been written about Twitter’s latest developer guidelines, which outlines the types of third-party apps the company supports, and those it wants to eliminate.

Called out as being an example of an app the company approved of in its new guidelines was HootSuite, the enterprise-focused social media management tool. And now we know why: Twitter and HootSuite are teaming up to begin selling ads to 30,000 HootSuite Pro customers.

Twitter’s Self-Serve Ads Now Available… If You Use American Express

<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-18757" title="Twitter's Self-Serve Ads Now Available...
Twitter’s Self-Serve Ad Products Available “Early Next Year”

During their press conference earlier today, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and co-founder Jack Dorsey revealed a brand new Twitter.com and official app redesign, which took the spotlight.

However, some smaller bits of news came out of the conference as well: specifically, a firm(ish) timeline for when we can expect to see self-serve ads available to marketers.

Twitter Starts Slowly Rolling Out Self-Serve Ads

The rumor mill was right about this one: Twitter has finally launched its version of self-serve ads. Only (like everything Twitter does), it looks like it’s going to be a very slow process to get it out to the masses.

Self Serving: New Details On Twitter Ad Platform Beta Tests

Twitter has begun quietly testing a new self-serve ad system, rolling it out to few beta testers, according to a report which the service refutes. The arrival of such a system has been speculated on for months: In October, shortly after taking the CEO reigns, Dick Costolo confirmed that the company was planning a self-serve ad system that would eventually deliver ads based on location.
