<title>The State Of B2B Social Media 2013 [STUDY]</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft  wp-image-35099" title="Why B2B Brands Must Invest In Social Media In 2013 [INFOGRAPHIC]" src="http://www.mediabistro.com/alltwitter/files/2013/01/b2b-marketing.png" alt="" width="200" height="219" />Did you know that Twitter is the business to business (B2B) social media platform of choice, favoured by 85 percent of B2B brands, ahead of LinkedIn (82 percent), YouTube (77 percent) and Facebook (71 percent)?</p>
<p>These are the latest findings from B2B Marketing in their <a href="http://b2bmarketing.net/resources/social-media-benchmarking-report-0" target="_blank"><em>2013 Social Media Benchmarking Report</em></a>, which noted that while driving traffic to their website was the primary goal for B2B marketers using social media, almost two-thirds (61 percent) described their social marketing strategy as &#8220;ad-hoc&#8221;.</p>

<p>Some 82 percent of social media B2B leads come from Twitter, compared to just 9 percent for Facebook and LinkedIn equally.</p>

<p>Indeed, a new study suggests that social media accounts for less than two percent of all B2B website traffic, with organic search (i.e., Google), direct traffic and other referrals significantly more important to business to business brands.</p>

<p>56 percent of respondents to <a href="http://www.btobonline.com/" target="_blank">BtoB Magazine</a>&#8216;s <em>2013 Outlook: Marketing Priorities And Plans</em> survey said that their marketing spend on channels such as Twitter and Facebook will rise this year, with social media being favoured above both search (52.5 percent) and mobile (a surprisingly low 35.5 percent).</p>

<p>While more B2B marketers are using social media sites than ever before, Facebook (83 percent), Twitter (80 percent) and LinkedIn (80 percent) are far and away the platforms of choice for the majority of brands, with YouTube (61 percent) and Google+ (39 percent) rounding out the top five.</p>
