The Original Captain Kirk Tweets With Astronaut In Space

Beam me up, Scotty!
The one and only Captain Kirk was tweeting, real-time, with an astronaut in outer space this past week.
Actor William Shatner, the Canadian actor who portrayed the iconic captain of the Starship Enterprise on TV’s “Star Trek,” hailed Canada’s soon-to-be first space station commander on Twitter to find out the latest news from orbit.

William Shatner was a big name on Twitter before he was a big name on Twitter. He was the face of the Twitter-account-turned-TV-show “$#!& My Dad Says”, which, while not as popular as the account, secured Shatner a position as a Twit-lebrity.
It’s official: Justin’s dad will no longer be regaling us with hilariously (or tediously, depending on your perspective) grumpy observations. The Twitter feed-inspired show “$#*! my Dad Says” has been canceled. A day to rue, remember, and hope that Twitter doesn’t inspire any more sitcoms anytime soon.
