Twitter has named Anthony Noto, previously of Goldman Sachs, as it’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Mike Gupta, Twitter’s former CFO, has been named senior vice president of strategic investments.
Noto, who began his career at Goldman Sachs as an analyst before becoming managing director of the firm’s technology, media and telecom investment banking sector, played a senior role in leading Twitter’s IPO last year.

Twitter shares rose 4.5 percent on the news.
“He definitely understands Wall Street, how investors value the company, what investors are focused on,” said Neil Doshi, an analyst at CRT Capital Group LLC.
“I think he just brings a different skill set. A set that really has very high level view of the competitive landscape, he understands very well what the investment community is looking for given his previous role,” said Macquarie Research analyst Ben Schachter.
Both Noto and Gupta will assume their roles within the next 30 days, Twitter reported in a regulatory filing.
