Twitter recently celebrated its 8th birthday and, in that relatively short period of time, the platform has become an increasingly important marketing tool for brands and businesses of all shapes and sizes in almost every major industry across the globe.
But how are brands using Twitter effectively to promote their products and services, and what sorts of challenges are they facing?
The Social Media Marketing University (SMMU) surveyed more than 1,000 marketing pros and found that almost 80 percent are using Twitter to increase brand awareness, with the majority having been active on Twitter for 2-3 years. Almost half (46 percent) update daily and 88.7 percent regularly use hashtags in their posts.
However, just 2.4 percent implement Vine in their social media strategy, and 45 percent say that calculating Twitter ROI is their single biggest challenge. Check the visual below for all the findings from the report.
