I’m Big On Twitter! How The Emmy Nominees Stack Up By Followers [INFOGRAPHIC]
It’s a little over 43 days until the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, and with the list of the nominees now out, the organizers have teamed up with visualization-maestros Column Five Media to create this colorful rundown of the most popular Emmy-nominated candidates on Twitter.
So here’s the big question: does popularity on Twitter give you a better chance of winning awards?
It certainly gives you a better chance of publicizing the award ceremony, as well as the show you’ve been nominated for, so the cynical amongst us might well argue that: yes. Yes it does.
We’ll find out in a few weeks. In the meantime, the clear frontrunners are Ryan Seacrest, who is nominated in Outstanding Host for his work on American Idol, with almost 5 million Twitter followers, and Jimmy Fallon, nominated in Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Conan O’Brien (Conan) and Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report) bring up the rear.
The infographic also looks at the most popular Emmy-nominated TV shows (Glee, Mythbusters) and Hollywood actors (Alec Baldwin, Martha Plimpton) on Twitter.
