Airtel Digital TV, an arm of Indian telco Bharti Airtel, has integrated Twitter with its digital TV offerings, Tech in Asia reports.
Translation: the 15 million Twitter users in India can now tweet while watching TV and view tweets related to their TV shows if they subscribe to Airtel.
The new functionality comes at no extra charge to subscribers. It’s powered by Bangalore-based startup Brizz TV.
Apparently the service will only be available on select TV channels to start with, but more will be added.
The coolest part is that to utilize the technology, subscribers just have to click their remote’s green button. Imagine that: a for-all-intents-and-purposes tweet button on your TV remote!
