Twitter rolled out an app update for iOS and Android this week with new search filters and increased focus on conversations surrounding TV.
Below, a walkthrough of the new Twitter app features.
New search filters: New filters in search help you find the tweets or accounts you’re looking for faster. You can also view all tweets, not just the top tweets, in mobile search results.
There’s a new photo search filter you can use to see tweets with photos in either a grid or list layout, and – of course – a video filter. Another new filter lets you see only tweets from people you follow.
Trending timeline in Discover: A new trending timeline in Discover shows you trends along with associated tweets.
When you click on the Trending button, you’ll see a list of trending hashtags – included promoted ones – that you can click on to drill down to tweets using that hashtag, plus an indicator of how many tweets with that hashtag have been sent.
Here’s where you can see trending TV shows if you’re in the U.S., and also nearby events from anywhere in the world.
Look out for the app update in the App Store and Google Play.
