Twitter Wish List: Five Twitter Features We Wish Existed

As the world’s fastest growing social network and, increasingly, the go-to platform for breaking news, Twitter is bigger and better than ever before.

That being said, there are five specific features on our “Twitter Wish List” that we’d like to make an official plea for.

1. Photo and video previews in draft tweets: You know how, when you’re composing a new tweet (for now, only on Twitter.com), your text turns blue when it’s a URL, and red when you’re over the 140-character limit? What if, in addition, a preview of your photo or video was also embedded before posting, as when you post a Facebook link, so you could give it a glance before tweeting?

2. Font customization: One of the best parts of using third party Twitter mobile apps rather than Twitter.com or the official Twitter app is the super sharp aesthetic. It would be neat to be able to customize the font you tweet in, and in which you see tweets, just for the sake of digital design.

3. Ability to import contacts from other networks: Currently, you can “find friends” on Twitter by importing contacts from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL. Wouldn’t life be simpler if we could also cross-check who’s on Twitter of our contacts on Facebook (God forbid), Pinterest, Instagram (God forbid again), Google+, Tumblr, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.?

4. Jump-to-top button: This one’s simple: why can’t the black Twitter logo located in the middle at the top of your main Twitter stream zoom you back up to the most recent tweet when you click on it? Scrolling takes too much effort.

5. Twitter photo/video albums: It would be cool if all of the images and videos on your Twitter profile (sadly now excluding any Instagrams) existed in an album with a URL. Especially as Twitter gets more visual, and with the new Vine app, it would make sense to let users feed their Twitter albums onto a blog, promote them via social, email them to a friend, and more.

If you could make any enhancement or tweak to Twitter, what would it be? Comments are yours!
