3 Out Of 4 National Book Award Winners Available As eBooks
Last night the National Book Awards was held in New York. For the event, the literary elite descended upon Wall Street to occupy Cipriani. Over lamb shanks and champange, the crowd celebrated the best books of the year. This editor live blogged it for GalleyCat.
The 2011 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature went to Thanhha Lai for Inside Out and Back Again. The 2011 National Book Award for Nonfiction went to Stephen Greenblatt for The Swerve: How the World Became Modern. The 2011 National Book Award for Fiction went to Jesmyn Ward for her book Salvage the Bones. All of these titles are available for you to read digitally.
However, if you’d like to read Head Off & Split by Nikky Finney, the 2011 National Book Award winner for Poetry, you’re going to have to do so with a print book. The book is not currently available as an eBook.
Hopefully by next year all of the winning books will be available on your Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iPad, Sony eReader or whichever other device you like to read books on.
