Amazon Introduces Facebook Gift Cards

Amazon is getting ready for the holiday season with a new tool that lets shoppers send gift cards to friends via Facebook. It seems like a great way to share the gift of eBooks.

Amazon customers can now connect to their Facebook accounts on Amazon.com in order to create a personalized gift card that will be delivered to their friend’s Facebook wall.

The gift cards can be personalized. You can choose a virtual gift card design, specify a dollar amount up to $5,000 and add a gift card message. The sender can also schedule the date for the gift card to appear on the recipient’s Facebook wall up to a year in advance. Follow this link to create one.

To promote the new service, Amazon is currently offering a “Give 5, Get $5″ promotion. The first 10,000 customers who give an MP3-themed Amazon.com Gift Card to five different Facebook friends will get a $5 credit good for music downloads at Amazon MP3.
