Analyst Predicts Kindle Revenue To Hit $5.42 Billion In 2011

Sandeep Aggarwal, an analyst at Caris & Co. is predicting that Kindle will be a five and a half billion dollar business for Amazon this year.

He told the International Business Times: “In our view, in 2011 Kindle can generate revenue in excess of $5.42 billion and $1.21 billion in gross profit; by 2012 we expect at least $7.96 billion in total revenue and $2.00 billion in gross profit.”

Even though Amazon is a public company that shares its sales revenue every quarter, the company is very secretive about how they present information on Kindle sales. The company has only shared cryptic facts such as that the Kindle is the best selling product in the company’s history and that Kindles have outsold Harry Potter books.
