Apple Predicted Siri – Back in 1987

One of the high points of yesterday’s Apple event was the announcement that Siri, Apple’s new virtual assistant app, would be integrated into the newly iPhone 4S. This is an amazing app, and that’s why Apple bought its developer last year.

But what’s even more amzing about the App is that Apple predicted that we’d have voice activated virtual assistants all the way back in 1987.

Here’s a concept video that Apple made in 1987. it shows a tablet like device called the Knowledge Navigator. Watch the video and note the similarities between the professor’s assistant and Siri.

What’s even more amazing is that if you pay close attention to the dates mentioned in the video, it is set in 2011 or 2012. Apple didn’t just show a feature they wanted, they also managed to make the prediction come true.
