Adobe Releases Photoshop Touch for Android and iOS

Adobe’s professional photo editing tool, Photoshop Touch, is finally available for smartphones at a price of $4.99. The app comes with an additional 2GB of storage on Adobe Cloud service so you can sync projects between various devices while saving valuable space on your phone.

Photoshop Touch has been available for iPad, Kindle, and Google’s Nexus but this version is designed for smaller screens. Having device specific editions allows Adobe to slightly diverge and offer varying experiences optimized for screen sizes and hardware advantages.

Much like the tablet version, Photoshop Touch on the phone has core Photoshop features like layers, advanced selections tools, adjustments and filters. We also packed in features exclusive to Photoshop Touch, like Scribble Selection for high-precision selections using only your finger, and Camera Fill for real-time creative blending of your camera feed with layers. This app features the same creative filters as the tablet version, like Color Drops and Acrylic Paint, and also a new Ripple filter.

Adobe Reader for iOS, Android Updated with Cloud Support

When Amazon released the new Kindles last fall they added a number of new feature. One which I found immensely useful was Kindle Cloud; it enabled me to save my ebooks and annotations to Amazon’s servers and then transfer them to my other Kindles and Kindle apps.

Today Adobe announced updates which brought similar features to their Android and iPad apps. In addition to better support for forms, Asian text, and DRMed PDF files, these apps can now access the PDF files which you have uploaded to Acrobat.com and download them so you can read, mark up, and continue to use them. Here’s how Adobe thinks you might use it: continued…
