Snoop Dog and Adidas Creates Interactive Facebook App for Christmas

Team Snoop Dog and Adidas wants you to Un-Scrooge your friends on Facebook with their latest interactive branded app that rewards fans with e-commerce discounts based on Ebenezer levels.

The user-specific Facebook app aggregates activities from the Timeline to create a personal Ebenezer level based on whether a user decline invitations, unresponsiveness to posts by friends, or whether a user acknowledged friends’ birthdays. These online interactions are then used to create a personalized scrooge video for each user to help them find their holiday spirit similar to Snoop Dog’s cautionary tale. FedEx Facebook App Lets Users Send Packages To Friends

Just in time for the holidays, FedEx has released a new app for Facebook that lets users create shipments to send to friends.

To use the Ship to Friends app, a Facebook user must first share their own address, as well as their friend’s address. Like the normal FedEx website, the app lets users create shipments asking for details such as the weight and dimensions of a package. The app lets you create a shipping label which you can fix onto a package before dropping it off at a FedEx shipping location.

AllFacebook has more: “FedEx said Ship to Friends also provides a drop-down menu of Facebook friends and allows users to post messages on their friends’ timelines alerting them that a package has been shipped.” The app is available for the desktop, as well as on mobile devices.

Facebook Stories App Brings Original Content To Social Network

David J. Knight, a 47-year-old archaeologist, has used Facebook as a tool to motivate the community of Guelph, Ontario, and save a rain ravaged building. His story is part of a new endeavor on the social networking site called Facebook Stories, which highlights the tales of how Facebook members have used the network to come together.

“Got a story about an extraordinary way that you’ve used Facebook?,” asks the new app. “Submit it to Stories, and we may publish it in an upcoming installment.” The new app aims to help the social networking site create original content and it will feature a new theme each month.

PaidContent.org has more: “The Facebook design team’s Skip Bronkie and Peter Jordan are leading the project. Dan Fletcher, who was hired as Facebook’s managing editor in January 2012 and was previously a reporter at Time magazine, is editing and vetting stories from users. He also wrote the “Guelph, Ontario: Saving a Slice of Downtown” story in this month’s issue. Other team members include Allie Townsend, formerly Time‘s social media producer; editorial producer Jeffrey Gerson; Matthew Harnack and Mandy Zibart.”

Share Your Romance Timeline With eHarmony Facebook App

Dating website eHarmony has launched its “Story of Us” Facebook app for Facebook. It has been upgraded for Facebook’s timeline. The app integrates with a Facebook user’s timeline so that couples can highlight the milestones in their relationships and show how their narrative has played out over time.

The app takes data from both a user and their significant other’s timelines and merges it together into one love story. Facebook users can show off their romance from their first date through to their engagement.

It does so by aggregating shared photos, shared interests and even check ins. Using this information, the eHarmony app maps out a story, to show off all of a couple’s adventures from that trip to Puerto Rico to a date night at the movies.
