The designers at Cinesaurus are back again one of their reinterpretations of tablet commercials.

This time around they took the idea from the iPad Mini commercial and created an ad for the Microsoft Surface. It’s quite clever in the ways in which it shows that the Surface is a much more capable tablet.

The Conan Show decided to show us this tablet. They made a faux Apple commercial in which Apple introduces 3 new iPads: the iPad Mini Mega, the iPad Mini Mega Micro, and the iPad Mini Mega Micro Max.

Yesterday we showed you Apple’s new commercial for the iPad Mini.

It was a clever play on the size differences and hinted that Apple thought you should buy both, but Apple’s commercial wasn’t as clever as Conan O’Brien‘s take on it.

A couple months back I showed you a satirical take on Apple fanboys. That video gently heckled them for a slavish devotion to Apple. Now it’s time for Android users to take their turn.

The above video does a near perfect job of portraying the Android fanboys I know. They really do sound like the actor in this video, and I swear I’ve heard them say at least half the comments.

Microsoft is enamored of their web browser, but many of us who use it on a daily basis are continually annoyed by its lack of speed, instability, and general buggyness. That’s why I am glad to show you this video.

It’s a satirical take on the official Internet Explorer 9 commercial which Microsoft released in March, and it comes far closer to matching my experience with the web browser. While I have not seen it crash quite this often, IE does tend to freeze at irregular intervals and otherwise misbehave. The only reason I still use it is to download Firefox and to visit a handful of sites that still don’t work well with Firefox.

As a practical functional app Apple Maps is a mess. Much of the location data is wrong and most importantly many of the map images are flawed. With as many flaws as have been found in Apple Maps, I am not surprised to learn that at least some of the errors were intentional.

Here Is How Not to Open an iPhone

Some Apple fans tend to obsess over every little detail of the experience of getting a new Apple gadget, including having a particular way in which they want to open the box. Today I bring you the tale of one new iPhone owner who can only wish he had the option of being picky.

Do you see the dog at right, and do you see the miscellaneous electronics and remains of a box? That used to be an iPhone – before it met the adorable chocolate lab.

This photo was posted to Reddit yesterday, and as usual Redditors have been contributing all sorts of suggestions on how to fix the iPhone. The leading response is “put it in a bowl of rice”, but other quips include:

Have you tried turning it off then back on?
Poor dog was probably just holding it wrong.
Didn’t Apple say that scratches were “normal?”

There are many more responses on the thread, including several other examples of stupid dogs doing stupid things. If you go read the thread be prepared to spend an hour laughing.

Apple Maps has turned out to be an utter fiasco since it launched last week, and the situation is now so bad that the CEO has had to apologize. There is an open letter posted on the Apple website from Tim Cook,and he is quite contrite.

If you’ve been following the news with Apple then you probably know that Apple Maps is a horribly broken feature of iOS 6. It’s so bad that, as you can see in the satirical video above, users need directions just in using the app.

The video is from Jest, and I seriously hope that it exaggerates the issues because otherwise the number of bugs would scare this blogger.

I came across the following video while looking for the next installment to the S*** Apple Fanatics Say video series. This video is a little old, but it still manages to capture the spirit of both the old Mac vs PC commercials as well as the recent satirical videos.

The above video was made for a class project at California State University Northridge. It plays on Apple’s still fondly remembered Mac vs PC commercials using artwork inspired by the show South Park.

Apple Maps for iOS6 Not Working Out Quite as Well as Apple Had Hoped

When Apple released the latest iOS update yesterday they left out the Google Maps support in favor of their own new maps service, Apple Maps. Unfortunately for Apple, they didn’t quite work the bugs out before launch.

Quite a few early adopters are reporting all sorts of bugs, map and location errors, and some awfully funny images. Take the one at right.

As you can see, Apple has succeeded in pancaking the Statue of Liberty. That 300 plus foot tall monument is now flatter than a dime.

And that is not the only mistake. There’s a whole slew of similar images on Twitter. They’re being shared under the #ios6pocalypse hashtag, and some are just as funny as this one.

It’s well worth your time for the snickers alone. And if you run out of funny images on Twitter, there’s also a new Tumblr blog which launched just to cover these goofs:
